About

As a cellist, ULRIKE BRAND specialized in the interpretation of contemporary music at Siegfried Palm. Since then, she has performed as a soloist at international festivals for new music, where she has premiered numerous works that have been commissioned by her. She is particularly interested in cross-border projects in the areas of music, fine arts, dance and performance. She is intensely engaged in free and conceptual improvisation, developing her own pieces in the intermediate area of ​​improvised and recorded music. She writes texts and essays and has held numerous guest lectures at home and abroad. From 1987 to 1997 she was the artistic director of the Quaderni Perugini di Musica Contemporanea in Perugia, Italy. Books about John Cage and Giacinto Scelsi. In 2015, she received the work and research fellowship of the Berlin Senate. In 2016 she was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Science, Education and Culture of Brandenburg in the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf. For the Kulturamt Spandau, she is curating the "Walls & Vibes" series from 2018 onwards. Since 2017, she has been an instructor in instrumental improvision at the University of the Arts in Berlin.

SERGEJ MOREINO (* 1964 Moscow, Russia) moved to Latvia in 1987 and has been a freelance author and translator since 1988. Moreino is editor of the literary magazines "Vārds" (Latvia) and "Балтика" (Kaliningrad, Russia) as well as editor of the series "География перевода" (geography of translation) of the publisher "Русский Гулливер". Moreino translated into Russian & a. the German poets Benn, Celan, Eich, Stolterfoht and Trakl, the Latvian poets Berzinš, and Vācietis and the Polish poets Krynicki and Miłosz. Moreino lives near Riga.
