Sounding art in conversation. The Berlin-Brandenburg composer and sound artist presents his own works, two of which belong to the "alter ego" series, in which an instrument enters into a dialogue with an electroacoustic counterpart.

Thomas Gerwin is a classically educated composer and sound artist. He came into the field of improvisation and electroacoustic music very early, later he also intensively worked on soundscape composition and radio art. Today he mostly works in his studio inter art project in Berlin, Germany, composes for concert performances (with and without traditional music instruments, acousmatic, multi-channel and live-electronics), dance, radio and film and creates sound installations and sound sculptures/objects for public spaces and festivals.
He is founder and artistic director of some ensembles and of yearly “International Sound Art Festival Berlin“. Since 2017 he additionally is President of Brandenburg Association of New Music BVNM e.V. and artistic director of yearly “intersonanzen” festival. His works are released worldwide and have been awarded with several international prizes and stipends.
