About Christoph Peters

Christoph Peters was born in Kalkar on the Lower Rhine in 1966. From 1988 to 1994, he studied painting at the Karlsruhe Art Academy under H.E. Kalinowski and G. Neusel, most recently as a master student of Meuser. He then worked for five years as a passenger inspector at Frankfurt Airport. Since 2000 he has lived in Berlin as a writer and illustrator.

Most recently, he published the novels "Der Sandkasten" (2022) and "Krähen im Park" (2022) as well as the travel essay "Tage in Tokio" (2021). His work has received numerous awards, including the Friedrich Hölderlin Prize in 2016, the Wolfgang Koeppen Prize in 2018 and the Lower Rhine Literature Prize in 1999 and 2022.
